Mahar Funeral Home & Cremation Services (aka E. P. Mahar and Son Funeral Home) is a third-generation funeral home in Bennington, Vermont, having served the communities of southern Vermont for over eighty years.
Founded by Edward and Olga Mahar in 1935, they established a business that has become a mainstay and a pinnacle of service in Bennington and the surrounding areas.
In 1959, Edward and Olga's son Alex joined his parents in the family business and became the president when the company was incorporated in the late 1960s. In 1985, Alex's son John joined his father and eventually purchased the business in 2008.
