Samuel Paul Greene Jr.

June 14, 1991 — December 29, 2022

Samuel Paul Greene Jr., 31, a resident of Bennington, Vermont passed away on December 29, 2022. Born on June 14, 1991 in Bennington, Vermont to Michelle Cavanagh and Samuel Greene Sr. Sammy instantly became the light of his sister Sarah’s eye and she cherished his shenanigans throughout his childhood. Sammy attended school in Arlington, Vermont and Granville, New York. Growing up, many were in his circle, but Kolby Crofut was his best friend. There are too many others to mention. He was a highly skilled professional painter who worked with his father and Uncle David in the Manchester and Dorset, Vermont areas. Sammy loved easily and was easily loved. His laugh and humor were admired and infectious to others. Quick to smile and quick to lend a hand, Sammy had a genuine love for seeing others be happy and excel in life. He was true to his friends and even strangers. He was a friend to anyone from 9 to 90. There was no gossip talk of others, and Sammy could easily keep a code of secrecy. He was the genuine article. Sammy despised wasting time in front of a TV but he would sit down for a good movie or to watch Sanford and Son. His love of music was rooted in; Hank Williams Jr., Stonewall Jackson, Charlie Daniels, and many more. His choice of entertainment definitely made him an old soul. He was always interested in anything with an engine. Mini bikes, motorcycles, and snowmobiles were first on his list of interests. He was a natural at riding anything and rode his bike without training wheels at three years old. His love of Toyota trucks came from his grandpa Greene and his love of fishing from grandpa Cavanagh. Sammy never kept the same set of tires on his truck for very long. Sammy loved the USA, Jesus, guns, and freedom. He despised hard drugs, too much mayonnaise, and abusers of children and animals. Sammy was his family‘s pride and joy. He suffered greatly from Lyme disease, which led to confusion and depression. At the time of his death, he had been scheduled to begin aggressive treatment for his Lyme disease. Unfortunately, it was not to be and has left us utterly heartbroken and devastated without measure. Sammy is survived by his parents, Michelle Cavanagh and Samuel Sr. and Tammy Greene. His sisters; Sarah Estes (Justin), Stephanie Principe (Don), and Toni Lyn Naylor (Andrew). As well as his grandparents; Gene and Gloria Lauzon. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Sammy was predeceased by his brother, Charles Naylor. His aunts; Sharon, Donna, Susan, and Danielle. His uncles; Gibby and Michael. As well as his grandparents; Don Sr. and Elizabeth Greene, and James Cavanagh.
