Rose M. Garrison, 93, formerly of Petersburgh, NY and more recently of Bennington, VT passed away December 4, with her family by her side She was born in Littleton, MA August 6, 1929. Rose was the daughter of the late Octave and Mae (Whalen) Richardson. She grew up in the Cheshire, MA. area where she received her education Rose married Anthony “Tony” Garrison on July 30, 1949. Mr. Garrison died July 13, 2003. In earlier years Rose was employed at Cornish Wire in Williamstown, MA and for 25 years was employed at the Putnam Memorial Hospital as Ward Secretary. She enjoyed flying with her husband and her dog Boo Boo. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, word seeks, reading and working in her flower gardens. She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Debbie Paligo and her husband, Gordon. Her sons, Bruce, David, Timothy and Wayne as well as a granddaughter, Heather Rose Garrison. She is also pre-deceased by brothers, Edward (Edna) and William Richardson as well as a sister, Mary Canales (Rudy). She leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Most recently she has enjoyed spending time with her great great niece, Jamie Chenail-Rhinemiller of Hancock who always brought her joy and laughter. At Mrs. Garrison’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral services. A graveside service will be held at the Hancock Cemetery in Hancock, MA at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank the staff at the Crescent Manor Care Center for being so kind and nurturing to Rose in her final years, the staff have been wonderful. Also, a huge thanks to Dr. Angela Wingate for her years of being a friend who was so compassionate and understanding of Roses wishes. If friends desire contributions in memory of Rose M.
