Roger E. Bourn Sr.

January 23, 1944 — February 7, 2021

Roger E. Bourn Sr., 77, a resident of Silver St. in Bennington died Sunday February 7, 2021 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT following a brief illness.

He was born in Bennington, VT January 23, 1944. He was the son of the late Burt H. and Nina (Wilder) Bourn. He received his education in the North Bennington and Shaftsbury schools.

Mr. Bourn was first married to the former Sally Martin. He later married the former Marion Hale in Bennington on August 29, 1992.

In earlier years Mr. Bourn was employed at the Iron Kettle Restaurant and later was employed at Bennington College where he worked for thirty five years until his retirement in 2006.

Mr. Bourn enjoyed playing uno, bingo, watching old western shows and country music.

Survivors include his wife, Marion Bourn of Bennington; a son Roger Bourn Jr. of Adams, MA. Two step daughters, Mary Goddard of North Pownal, VT, Norma Brownell of Manchester and four step sons, Daniel Blackmer Jr. of Seattle, WA, Fred Blackmer of Manchester, VT, Charles Blackmer of Manchester, VT. And the late John Hale of Bennington; Fifteen step-grandchildren. a brother Millard Bourn of Bennington, and two sisters Pat Leonard of Pownal and Emily Rowe of Bennington; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Due to Covid restrictions there will be no calling hours or funeral services.

The burial will take place in the family lot at White Chapel Cemetery.
