Priscilla H. Rice, 71, a resident of Morgan Street in Bennington died Monday June 22, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family following a brief illness.
She was born in Bennington, VT on June 16, 1949. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Phyllis (Lockrow) Crawford. Priscilla received her education in Bennington and was a graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School class of 1967.
She married William Rice on October 13, 1973 at Saint Peters Episcopal Church in Bennington.
In earlier years Priscilla was employed in the food service department at Putnam Memorial Hospital in Bennington. She also worked with her uncle Harvey at Ben Pastry, later at Stanley Tools, and for many years worked in the food service department at the North Bennington, Woodford and Monument Schools from which she retired in 2011.
Priscilla enjoyed sewing, crocheting and spending time at their camp on Lake Champlain.
Survivors include her husband William Rice of Bennington. A daughter, Emily Rice and her husband Robert Denue of Bennington. A son, Henrick Rice and his wife Katie of Weare, New Hampshire. Five grandchildren, Owen and Natalie Denue and Ben, Bruce and Maggie Rice. Nine brothers and sisters and their spouses, Stephen and Christine Crawford, Theodore and Linda Crawford, Jeffrey and Andrea Crawford, Eric and Jayne Crawford, Melinda and Jeffrey Santarcangelo, Laurie and Michael Myers all of Bennington, Eric, Melody and Daniel Zwynenburg of Pownal, VT, Elizabeth and Paul Lemperle of Hoosick Falls, NY and Joseph and Christina Crawford of Arlington, VT along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
A celebration of Priscilla's life will be held at a later date.
