With a heavy heart I am saddened to tell you that on the morning of February 21, 2021 the world lost a beautiful soul. It was on this date that Pamela King passed away in her home due to heart complications at the age of 59.
Pam was born on November 20, 1961 in Bennington, Vermont where she graduated from Mount Anthony Union High School.
It was December 19, 1982 when she had her first and only son Shawn Ridgeway. As an amazing single parent, she began working several jobs, including being a waitress, where she worked her way up to eventually managing a pizzeria in Dover, Vermont. It was around this time that she would meet her first husband, Romney Ridgeway. They married in the summer of 1992. They divorced a few years later but still remained friends to this day. It was many years later that she would meet her current husband, Seth King. They were married May 22, 2006.
After years of working in the food industry and random jobs, she would eventually begin managing motels, including the Iron Kettle in Shaftsbury, VT. Pam had a passion for NASCAR racing and a love for Dale Earnhardt that was unrivaled. She enjoyed collecting trinkets, trolls and anything with Dale Earnhardt on it. Pam loved animals but had a special bond with dogs, as she would treat them as her children. But, most of all Pam loved to spend time with her family. Whether it was sliding with her nephew's children or watching NASCAR on Sundays with her sister, spending time with family was sure to put a smile on her face. It is a smile that will be greatly missed as well as her infectious laughter that could make you smile on the darkest of days
Pam is survived by her husband Seth King and her son Shaun Ridgeway. Her two sisters and two brothers, Dawn Leonard, Karen Douglas, Roger Woodie and Steven Woodie, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pam will be cremated as she wished and her cremains will be kept by her son. A celebration of Pam's life will be announced at a later date.
For more information, please contact Shaun Ridgeway on Facebook. If anyone would like to send flowers or a donation please send those to 127 Putnam St., Bennington, VT 05201.
