Marvin Hathaway

Marvin S. (Chick) Hathaway, a resident of 823 Gage Street Bennington, VT died October 10, 2022 after a brief illness. Born in North Hoosick, NY Feb. 22, 1927, he was the son of the late S. William Hathaway and Ethel (Cornell) Hathaway. He received his education in North Hoosick and Hoosick Falls, NY. Mr. Hathaway married the former Clara E. Hall in Bennington on September 29, 1945. Mrs. Hathaway passed away in 2016. In earlier years Mr. Hathaway was employed at Union Carbide Corporation for 39 years until the time of his retirement in 1985. Mr. Hathaway enjoyed gardening, woodworking, country music and especially spending time with his family. Survivors include a son, William M. Hathaway of Bennington; three daughters- Barbara Dommke and Patricia Andrews of Bennington, VT, and Donna Hathaway Sneden of El Cajon, CA. He has seven grandchildren, Debra Hathaway, Stephen Hathaway, Brian Dommke, Jennifer Hathaway, Sara Andrews, Michael Andrews and Jessica Andrews. He has six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He is predeceased by four sisters: Alice Sherman, Ruth Woodward, Betty McManus and Mary (ANNA) Hafensteiner. He was predeceased by six brothers: George W. Hathaway, Kenneth C. Hathaway, Charles M. Hathaway, Frank S. Hathaway, James J. Hathaway and David G. Hathaway.
