HOOSICK FALLS- Margaret Kay Brace (Cook), 88, A resident of Hoosick Falls, New York passed away peacefully on November 29, 2022 following a brief illness. Born on January 21st, 1934 in Ludlow, Vermont. She was the daughter of the late Harold R. And Susan (Fuller) Cook. She received her early education at the White Creek school house in White Creek New York. She married the late Henry R. Brace who passed away on April 1, 1982. In her professional life Margaret worked as a housekeeper for many years at Bennington College where she met Henry. In later years she also worked as a housekeeper for the Ramada Inn of Bennington. She enjoyed word searches, knitting afghan blankets, and reading. Margaret was also a former member of the Bennington Eagles Auxiliary. Survivors include Her daughter Bonnie Sauer of Bennington, Vermont. A step son, Dion Brace of Boerne, Texas. A granddaughter Holly Gillette (Brandon) of Newark, NY. Her step grand children Rick Hastings (Katrina) of White Creek, NY, Terry Hastings II (Kate) of East Greenbush, NY, Chad Hastings Of White Creek, NY, Kathy Hastings Of Rockwood, Tennessee, Darren Ruiz-Sauer of Pownal, VT, Zachary Sauer of Bennington, VT, and Tyson Sauer of Pownal, VT. A Niece, Cashelle Lukas (Mark) of Shaftsbury, VT Margaret was also survived by 12 step-great-grandchildren. A former son-in-law Terry Hastings of White Creek, NY. As well as many other close friends and a beloved dog Myah. Margaret is predeceased by her siblings; John Cook, Herbert Corey, Nellie Yager, and her twin sister Marjorie. As well as a son-in-law Stephen Sauer. Friends and family are invited to calling hours from 10am till 12pm on December 2nd at the Mahar funeral home in Bennington. Services for Margaret will be held on December 2nd at 12 pm at the funeral home, following the conclusion of calling hours. The graveside service will be held at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington following the service at the funeral home. If friends should desire contributions in memory of Margaret may be made to The Vermont Veterans Home thoroughly the office of Mahar Funeral Home 628 Main Street Bennington, Vermont 05201
