Katherine Irene Laporte (Harrington)

August 3, 1924 — July 10, 2021

Katherine Harrington LaPorte, 96, passed away peacefully at home on July 10th 2021.
She was born in East Shaftsbury, VT on August 3rd 1924. Katherine was the daughter of Jesse and Irene (Smith) Harrington. She studied to become an RN, attending school in St. Johnsbury, VT.
She married Francis LaPorte and they spent 62 years together before his passing on August 11, 2010.
Katherine was proud to be a nurse, working for Bennington Hospital, and later became a visiting nurse for the Rensselaer County Public Health.

She and Frank lived, and raised their children, in Hoosick Falls, NY before retiring to West Palm Beach, FL where they stayed for 25 years.

She is survived by her four children, Richard (Cecelia) LaPorte of Attleboro, MA, Linda Mavilla of Bennington, Barry (Nancy) LaPorte of Hoosick Falls, and Ronald (Heidi) LaPorte of Schagticoke, as well as eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Katherine was predeceased by her husband Francis and two siblings, Albert and Basil Harrington.
At the request of the family, there will be no services.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of E. P. Mahar and Son Funeral Home.
