Glenn F. "Butch" Hebert Sr. 76, a resident of BenMont Ave. in Bennington, VT and seasonal resident of Port St. Lucie, FL died Thursday November 11, 2021 at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his family.
He was born in Bennington, VT August 20, 1945. He was the son of the late Glenn W. and Blanche (Laperrier) Hebert. Glenn received his education in Bennington and was a 1964 graduate of Bennington Catholic High School.
He married the former Patricia Walker on June 19, 1965 at Sacred Heart Church in Bennington.
In earlier years Glenn had been employed at Cushman Manufacturing. He also worked as a meat cutter at Oneida Markets and worked security at both the Green Mountain Race Track and Bennington College. He also ran the PetCo Store in Bennington for several years and worked part time at the Bennington Sheriff's Department. He most recently worked maintenance at Bennington Elementary and Catamount School. For several years Glenn owned the Ding Dong Cart.
He was a proud member of the Bennington Rural Fire Department. He was a member of the American Legion Post 13 and the Civil Air Patrol.
He enjoyed bowling and softball. He loved to support youth sports and coached MAYAA Football where he coached the Ramada Inn team to a championship. His pride and joy was his dog Bella.
Survivors include his wife Patricia Hebert of Bennington. His children and their spouses. Glenn F. Hebert Jr. and Cheryl Fazio of Hoosick Falls, NY, Jo-Ann Foster and Tom of West Palm Beach, Florida and Anthony Hebert and Stacey of Bethany, CT. Two granddaughters, six grandsons and a great granddaughter. A brother Roger Hebert and his wife Neva of Bennington and Patty Rupprecht and her husband Mike of Bennington. Along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by a sister Jo-Ann Sausville.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington on Monday November 15, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
The funeral will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 1:00 p.m.
The burial will follow in the family lot at White Chapel Cemetery.
Reception following the ceremony at Beech Street Firehouse.
