William M. Walsh, 56, a resident of East Arlington Road in Arlington, VT died Thursday July 13, 2017 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital in Hanover, New Hampshire following a brief illness.
Bill was born in Bennington, VT November 7, 1960. He was the son of the late John F. Walsh Jr. and Eleanor (Ward) Walsh. He received his education in Arlington and was a 1978 graduate of Arlington High School.
He served in the United States Navy from 1978 until 1983.
In earlier year's he was employed as a Computer Programmer at CB Sports and for over 25 years he was employed at Rutland Mental Health Services as a Computer Program Analyst.
Bill was a member of the American Legion Post 69 in Arlington. He enjoyed fishing, camping, all sports, working in his yard and taking care of his cat.
Survivors include his children, William M. Walsh II of Arlington, Candace L. Walsh of Arlington and Matthew J. Walsh of Miami, Florida. Four grandchildren, Whitney, Cameron, Carson and Madison. Three sisters, Frances Walsh of Hinesburg, Joanne Walsh Lansing of Knox, NY and Barbara Kenan of Cocoa Beach, Florida; two brothers, Patrick Walsh (Martha)of Hopewell, Virginia and John (Cindy) Walsh of Sandgate, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill was predeceased by a nephew, John Walsh IV.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery in Arlington, VT on Tuesday July 18, 2017 at 3:00 pm.
