William M. Weibel, 94, a resident of Equinox Village, Manchester Center, died Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born in Taylor, PA on December 12, 1923, he was the son of the late Milford and Amelia (Rieder) Weibel.
As a young man Bill played the trumpet in various local bands in Pennsylvania.
Bill received both his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Aeronautical Engineering from Lafayette College in Easton, PA. He worked in the aeronautical field for many years, mainly with companies who held government contracts to build military fighter planes.
Bill was married to the former Jeraldine "Jeri" Sharon who died several years ago. Bill was also predeceased by a sister, Doris Weibel Ratzel. Bill and his wife retired to Vermont in the late 1980's. In earlier years he was an avid skier and was the proud owner of a Robin Egg Blue Corvette convertible.
Bill will be buried with his wife at the family lot in Abington Hills Cemetery in Clarks Summit, PA
A Celebration of Life for William Weibel will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Equinox Village.
