William M. Densmore (Densmore)

William M. Densmore, a resident of Glastenview Drive in Shaftsbury, VT. died peacefully in his home on Wednesday Nov. 25. He was born in Boston, MA. on February 24, 1932 and the son of the late Frank H. Densmore and Marie (Monahan) Densmore of Milton, MA.

He received his education in Milton, MA. graduating in 1951. Bill served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1959, the Air Force Reserves from 1961 to 1974 and the Army National Guard from 1974 to 1984. He as well had a career employed by the U.S. Post Office until he retired in 1991.

Bill married the former Therese M. Babineau on May 17, 1952 in Dorchester, MA.
He, along with his wife Therese, was a member at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington where he served as an usher. He was also a member of the VFW Post 1332.

Bill is survived by his seven children; Ellen Fanizzi of Rockland, MA, Gary Densmore of Austin, Arkansas, Paula Force of Abington, MA, Kevin Densmore of Abington, MA, John Densmore of Cambridge, NY, Denise Densmore of Weymouth, MA, and Wayne Densmore of Milton, MA, fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and a brother Paul Densmore of Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
He was predeceased by his wife Therese Densmore, daughter Deborah Densmore, grandson Ryan Force, brother Kenneth Densmore and sister Corrine Womack.

Bill enjoyed gardening, raising wildflowers, good food and visits from family and friends. He loved hosting with his beloved Therese the annual family cookout, complete with the Debba-Doo horseshoe tournament. For decades he enjoyed being Santa Clause for all of his grand and great grandchildren and many other children through various community activities.

Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home Bennington, VT. on Wednesday Dec.2, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral Mass will be held at Saint John The Baptist Church, North Bennington at 12:00 pm.

His burial with Military Honors will be held at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Abington, MA. on Saturday, December 5th at 12pm.
