William A. Corey

William A. Corey, 95 of Bennington, VT, passed away on December 3, 2022 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington. William was born in Shaftsbury, VT on June 11, 1927, the son of William and Phoebe (Matteson) Corey. He received his education in Bennington schools and was a graduate of Bennington High School. He married the former Matilda “Tillie” Scrivens in 1951. Tillie passed away on October 7, 2018. William was a WWII army veteran. He was employed at Bijur Lubricating Corporation in Bennington for many years. He enjoyed working on motors and was a very skilled mechanic. He also enjoyed making lamps in his spare time. William is survived by his daughters; Marie (Joseph) Webber of Bennington, VT and Corinne Erskine of Cocoa, FL, his son; William G. Corey, of Schroon Lake, NY, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife William was predeceased by his daughter, Eva Watters, his son, Peter Corey, his sister, Helen Crawford and a brother Ernie Reynolds. Services for William will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
