William J. "Bill" Baker, 53, a resident of Orebed Road, North Bennington, died suddenly on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at his residence.
Born in Bennington on September 9, 1965, he was the son of William E. Baker and the late Faye (Myers) Baker. Bill received his education in the Bennington schools and was a 1984 graduate of Mt. Anthony Union High School.
Bill married the former Diane Shepard in Shaftsbury in August, 24, 1996.
He was employed for many years by Iron Horse Roofing in Londonderry.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and motocross races. Bill's favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Baker of North Bennington; three daughters, Amy Shepard and Darcy Stratton of Bennington and Lindsay Brillon of North Adams, MA and a very special nephew that is like a son, Adam Shepard of Bennington; his father, William E. Baker of Shaftsbury; seven grandchildren, Dakota, Shea, Tyler, Ayden, Oliver, Giovanni and Luis Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Blayne, Harrison and Haevyn; a sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and William Parks of Shaftsbury; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Chris and Patricia Baker and David and Kelly Baker, of Bennington and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Friday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.
Burial will take place in the family lot at Center Shaftsbury Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
