Wilfred E. Huckins

Wilfred Earl Huckins, 65, a resident of South Street in Bennington, VT died Saturday August 21, 2016 at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York following a brief illness.

He was born in Barre, VT September 5, 1951. He was the son of the late Howard G.. Huckins and Elizabeth Jane (Sprague) Huckins. Wilfred received his education in Barre.

He enjoyed fishing, making walking sticks, walking, playing golf and looking for golf balls. He also enjoyed playing spoons and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Kathy and Tara Huckins of Barre, VT and Mary Nemkovich of Sumterville, Florida and Jillian Scruton of North Carolina; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, a sister Rosie Linihan of Manchester, VT and a brother Linwood Huckins of Texas. A niece Jessa Hewes of Manchester, VT and a nephew Michael Huckins of Texas. He was pre-deceased by a brother Howard Guy Huckins Jr.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
