Wanda J. Willoughby, 68, widow of Donald L. Willoughby, a former resident of North Branch Street, Bennington, died Friday, August 24, 2018 at Albany Medical Center following a long illness.
Born in Cambridge, NY on May 2, 1950, she was the daughter of the late John and Ella (Brayson) Hewson. She received her education in the Bennington schools and was a 1969 graduate of Mt. Anthony Union High School. She later attended Albany Business College.
Wanda and Don were married January 20, 1993 in Bennington. Don died April 4, 1999.
Wanda was employed at many different businesses in the Bennington area over her life time. Her last employment prior to her illness was at Fay's Drugs.
Wanda enjoyed knitting, cake decorating, dancing, reading and walking.
Survivors include a son, Fred A. Grant Jr, of Bennington; three grandchildren, Justin, Gavin and Ashlynn; two aunts, Lillian Sweet and Laura Bump of Bennington and several cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Leslie "John" Grant; two granddaughters; three sisters, Velma, Margaret and Gail Hewson and a brother, Joseph Hewson.
Memorial services celebrating the life of Wanda Willoughby will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4:30 until the time of the service.
