Wade P. Hill, 54, a resident of Field Way in Pownal, VT died unexpectedly at his residence on Wednesday June 1, 2022.
He was born in Burlington, VT July 4, 1967. He was the son of the late Elwood Hill and Avis (Adams) Hill Therriault and his late step father, Maurice Therriault. Wade received his early education in Hyde Park, VT and later graduated from Mount Anthony Union High School in 1985.
Wade received a full scholarship to attend a culinary institute but denied the scholarship to take care of is young family.
He was a chef at several area restaurants including, the Publyk House, Bennington Station, the Tap House and Bennington College. For many years he has been the chef at Kevin's in North Bennington.
Wade enjoyed horseshoes, baseball, playing pool, riding motorcycles and four wheeling. He also loved to play poker. He was a member of the Eagles in Bennington.
Survivors include his fiancé Beth Gardner of Pownal, VT. Two sons, Joseph M. Hill (Samantha) of North Bennington and Bradley P. Hill (Sarah) of Pownal, VT. Four grandchildren, Paiton Hill, Landon Coleman-Hill, Dylan Hill and Kenzie Hill. His former wife, Cindy Drake of Shaftsbury, VT and two half brothers, Kevin and Forrest Hill.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Monday June 6, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
A graveside service will be held at the family lot at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Pownal on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
