Virginia Martha Frechette

March 20, 1948 — June 29, 2017

Virginia Martha Frechette (Kemmerer), 69, died June 29, 2017, at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH, surrounded by her family following a brief illness. She was born March 20, 1948, the daughter of Lorenzo and Edna Kemmerer, in Albany, New York. She graduated from Bennington High School, Keystone College and Notre Dame University, Manchester, NH, with an Advanced Degree in Education. On February 20, 1971, she married Edward William Frechette in Bennington, Vermont.

Ginny taught/loved teaching special needs students around the southern NH area for many years. In Bennington, she was employed in accounting for several local businesses. She was a Vermont Boy Scouts commissioner and a Vermont Girl Scouts leader. Ginny was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Bennington, Red Mountain Chapter #41 Order of the Eastern Star and Saint Mathews Episcopal Church in Goffstown.

Ginny and her family were transferred to southern New Hampshire due to her husband's employment with Chemfab Corporation in 1984. Once in New Hampshire, besides creating a new loving household, Ginny became a NH Boy Scout commissioner carrying on her involvement with the Boy Scouts of America. She earned an advance teaching degree from Notre Dame University, Manchester and enjoyed teaching for several years in southern New Hampshire. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, and quilting in her membership with the Bedford Friendship Quilt Guild. Ginny was also very proud of her Irish heritage, thoroughly enjoyed visiting Ireland and listening to traditional Irish music.

Ginny's never ending spirit of giving was expressed many times during holiday periods; over a 30-year period she would deliver food baskets provided by the Goffstown Network Food Pantry each Thanksgiving and Christmas. Christmas was a favorite time of the year for Ginny again assisting the Odd Fellows Association of Goffstown, purchasing, wrapping and delivering Christmas gifts to the less fortunate within the community.

Survivors include her husband, a son Robert Edward Frechette, a daughter-in-law Kate, daughter Martha Ceil Frechette and significant other Ron Piecuch, a brother the Rev. Stanley Kemmerer and sister-in-law Nancy Kemmerer of Burlington, Conn and her beloved cat's Britches and Destiny. She was predeceased by her father and mother and an Aunt Kathleen Phillips.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday July 6, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Bennington. Calling hours will be at the Mahar and Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 5, from 4:00-7:00 PM. Burial will be at Park Lawn Cemetery following the service. A celebration of Ginny's life will follow the burial at the Elk's Lodge, 125 Washington Ave.

The family would like to express their extreme gratitude and thanks to the Elliot Intensive Care Unit staff for their deep and caring concern for Ginny during her admission to the unit. They provided comfort to Ginny and emotional support to the family and friends during her stay.
