Violet P. Dufresne (Dorman)

Violet "Suzy" was born on April 12, 1927 in Bennington, Vermont to the late Philip Dorman and Doris (Dupee) Dorman. Violet was one of seven children born to Philip and Doris and is predeceased by her brothers Philip "Sunny" Dorman, Cecil "Brother" Dorman and sister Virginia "Ginny" Dorman.
Violet married the late Edward Dufresne on June 29th, 1956. Violet and Edward were married for 38 years until Edward's passing. Even after Edward's passing Violet made sure that Edward's memory lived on through stories and memories. Violet and Edward were blessed with four children Elizabeth, Mark, Cynthia and Kenneth.
Violet was a devote Jehovah's Witness from a young age. Violet was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness on December 7, 1947 in Keene, NH. A faith that she carried with her always and comforted her in her last moments. Violet's strong character was evident in everything she did. With her feisty and tenacious spirit and strong moral compass, Violet was a force to be reckoned with. While always humble in her accomplishments, Violet touched many lives whether it was caring for the elderly, caring for children or taking in Fresh Air children every summer. Violet had a marked devotion to her family and friends and was a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, sister and aunt. Violet loved spending time with her family and often reflected on her family as one of her greatest accomplishments. Her love for her family will always be remembered.
In addition to the loving caregiver that she was, Violet will be also be remembered for being a talented knitter and crocheter. Always working on a project with a knitting basket and needles within reach, Violet crafted endless pieces for family and friends throughout the years. Violet also enjoyed gardening and took pride in her many flower gardens and house plants with her profound green thumb. Family history was another favorite past time of Violet's who was always excited to pass down stories, photos and history from past generations. Violet was a woman of many talents who loved to absorb as much knowledge as she could from everything she touched.
Violet is survived by her children, Elizabeth Anderson and spouse Robert, Mark Dufresne, Cynthia Harrington and spouse Duane and Kenneth Dufresne and partner Tonya. Sisters, Doris "Sister" Davis (Albert), Luella "Midgie" Crawford and brother Donald Dorman (Linda). Violet is survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many others whose path she has graced throughout the years.
Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Burial will take place at the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery following the visitation.
