Timothy A. McLenithan, 65, a person of many states, Vermont, Rhode island, New York, Texas, Alaska, California, passed away on September 28, 2024 at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY following a long illness. Tim was born in Bennington, VT on September 21, 1959, the third son of six children to Harold and Janet (Weeks) McLenithan. Tim received his early education at Pownal Elementary School in Pownal, VT and graduated from Mount Anthony Union High School in Bennington, VT in June of 1978. Tim married Frances Ann Smith on February 6, 1998 in Juneau, Alaska. Tim and Frances spent 35 years together. They have two daughters, Ashley Ann and Shelby Lynn. Tim’s love of adventure took him to many states while working in the building trade. He could always find a job as a carpenter. Tim loved to hunt and fish and was a very good cook, especially fish dinners. Tim his survived by Frances McLenithan, his daughters; Ashley Gomez and her husband, Juan, and Shelby McLenithan and her fiancé’, Derek Blouin, his father, Harold McLenithan, sister, Wendy (Kenneth) Harris, his brothers; James (Carol) McLenithan and Brian (Rebecca) McLenithan and a sister-in-law, Linda McLenithan. Tim was predeceased by his mother, Janet, in 2016, and two brothers, Kevin in 2021 and Jeffrey in 1978. There will be no formal funeral services. A Celebration of Life is being planned for Friday November 1, 2024, when his family arrives from around the country, at the Gate House 1295 West Road Bennington, VT from 1:00-5:00 PM. Come and reminisce of past experiences. Due to his wandering ways over the years, Tim’s ashes will be shared in three states, Vermont, California and Hawaii.
