Thomas W. Stockman

Thomas W. Stockman, 94, a resident of Coolidge Avenue, died on February 1, 2018 at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation.

Born in Cambridge, Mass on April 4, 1923, he was the son of the late Earle and Gladys Eliza (Brooks) Stockman. Thomas lived in Winchendon, Mass in his childhood years and later the family moved to Flushing, New York.

He graduated from Flushing High School and was employed at Sperry Gyroscope of New York. He served in the U S Army. He worked as a self employed Electronics Technician. He later worked as a Frame Supervisor for New York Telephone Company where he worked for over twenty-six years with perfect attendance.

He retired to Bennington in 1992. He enjoyed his house and had a love for animals.

Thomas enjoyed talking to his friends on the phone, breakfast at Friendly's, coffee time at 303. He liked to ride his bike and running.

He recently started watching Antiques Road Show and watching The Lawrence Welk Show.

He had a quirky never ending sense of humor and whether you called him, U. T., 007, Boss, Barney, Green Mountain Man, or Tom, he has always enjoyed hearing from friends and talking on the phone.

Tom is survived by two nieces and one nephew, nine great nieces and nephews and seventeen great great nieces and nephews, and one great great great nephew.

He is predeceased by his brother, Chester and his wife Frances. A niece Judith Sinclair, and a nephew William Stockman.

Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family wishes to thank his caregivers: staff at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation, Dr. Gregory King, and VNA and Hospice.
