Thomas H. Ryan (Ryan)

March 26, 1945 — April 12, 2018

Thomas H. Ryan, 73, a former resident of Depot St. in Bennington and more recently of Spring Hill, Florida died Thursday April 12, 2018 in Florida.

He was born in Bennington, Vermont March 26, 1945. He was the son of the late Henry J. and Martha (Weeks) Ryan. Tom received his early education at Saint Francis de Sales Academy in Bennington and was a 1963 graduate of Bennington Catholic High School.

He married the former Jean Hurley October 24, 1970 at Saint Francis de Sales Church in Bennington. Jean died June 2, 2003.

In earlier years Tom was employed at the Vermont Liquor Store in Bennington, Ekwanok Country Club in Manchester, the Four Squires Restaurant in Bennington and the Mount Anthony Country Club.

Survivors include a daughter Jennifer Ryan of North Bennington. Two grandsons, Ryan DeCell of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Olin Daniels of North Bennington, VT. Two sisters, Katherine Crawford of Spring Hill, Florida and Martha Gillespie and her husband Charlie of Lakeland, Florida. His sister in law, Julie Shea and her husband Howard of Greenwich, NY and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, great great nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by a brother in law Michael Crawford

Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday April 18 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Thursday April 19, at 2:00 p.m.

The burial will follow in the family lot at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington
