BENNINGTON- Thomas Robert "Robbie" Pack passed away in Bennington, Vermont on January 27th , 2022.
Robbie was the quintessential blue collar working man, much like the versions Merle Haggard, a favorite of Robbie's, sang about. He spent many years keeping his nose to the grindstone and working hard every day. It's reflected in his legacy of transmission and distribution substations, windmills, and solar fields he had a hand in building across the country, including many in the Green Mountain State where he made his home for the past seventeen years.
Robbie was born in Phoenix, Arizona and as a young man spent time across the southeastern United States finding his way. After years of hard work and dedication to his trade Robbie would end up on the path to what brought him his greatest level of professional success and personal pride. In 2006 he and his former wife Lilly would start a construction company, Northern Realm Power. Based out of Colchester, Vermont, the fledgling operation would grow over the next ten years and go on to build and remodel over two dozen substations in addition to constructing two windmills and over a dozen solar installations throughout the state.
Aside from his professional achievements Robbie will be remembered as a man whose generosity was felt by family, friends, and employees. He relished being able to help those he cared about when the opportunity presented itself. He also enjoyed traveling, whether it was with a group of family or friends to Fenway Park to see his beloved Red Sox or across the world with Lilly to the Marshall Islands to compete in trophy fishing tournaments with family and friends there. His sense of adventure was a defining feature of his life, both personally and professionally.
He is survived by: his children Thomas "RJ" (Tamara) Pack, Malia "Lia" Pack, and Mayan Randall; grandchildren Thomas "TJ," Caleb, and Carson; ex-wife Lilly Pack; mother Carol Davis; siblings Wesley (Stacey) Pack, Kevin (Laurie) Pack, Joseph Pack, Jillian "Jill" (Cole) Pack-Williams, Ellie Jackson; and step-mother Melanie "Mel" Pack. He was also loved dearly by his former family the DeBrum's.
Robbie was preceded in death by his father Hazel Pack, nephew Cody Hall and niece Christa DeBrum.
A celebration of Robbie's life will be scheduled at a later date and details will be provided by his children.
A Go fund me for children in the Marshall Islands has been set up in lieu of flowers .
