Thomas Henry Maynard

Thomas Henry Maynard, resident of Bennington, Vermont, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Thomas was born on March 27, 1938 in Bennington. He was the son of the late Henry Maynard and Eva Butler. In his earlier years, Thomas attended Bennington schools. In his spare time, Thomas loved playing chess and watching sports with his sons. He also had a special love for animals, and would feed the stray cats in his neighborhood. Thomas was an active member of the Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Bennington. He was also a security guard for many years, and worked many other jobs throughout his life - sometimes working 90 hours a week to take care of his family. Survivors include his three sons: Ronald, Donald (Sharon), and Henry Maynard. His daughters, Theresa of Clifton Park, NY, and Krystal Amadon (Colin) of Kennebunk, ME, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Thomas was predeceased by his parents, Henry Maynard and Eva Butler; his wife Marie; his son John Maynard, as well as, one brother and two sisters. At the family's request, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 12:00 pm at the Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Bennington. Following the mass, the burial for Thomas will take place at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington. In lieu of flowers, friends and relatives may donate to www.ALZFDN.Org (Dementia Foundation), St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or to an animal rescue of their choice.
