Mrs. Therese T. Reardon, 91, a resident of Putnam St. in Bennington died Friday October 14, 2016 at her residence following a long illness.
She was born in Bennington, VT January 6, 1925. She was the daughter of the late William D. and Eva (Coutu) Tremblay. Therese received her education in Bennington and was a graduate of the former Bennington High School Class of 1943. She later attended Booth and Baylise Business College in Connecticut.
She married John C. Reardon at Sacred Heart Church in Bennington on October 27, 1956. Mr. Reardon died June 18, 2014
In earlier years Mrs. Reardon was employed at the Union Carbide Corporation where she was head of employee relations. She retired in 1985 after 40 years with the company.
Therese was a member of Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church and a member of Saint Anne's Society at the church. She was a longtime member of the Bennington Club. Over the years she was a volunteer at the Bennington Museum and at the Green Mountain Chapter of the American Red Cross. She formerly served on the Red Cross Board. Mrs. Reardon was an active volunteer at the Senior Citizens Center and at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters, Alice Paquin and Gabrielle Maynard and a brother Neil Tremblay
The funeral will be held at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Thursday October 20, at 10:30 a.m. with a prayer and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 11:00 a.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.
The burial will take place in the family lot at Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
