Therese M. Densmore, 89, a resident of Shaftsbury, VT died Saturday July 13, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Daughter of the late James A. and Agnes T. (Cronin) Babineau. Therese was born in Boston, MA on January 17, 1930. She was raised in West Roxbury and Roslindale, MA.
Therese was the loving wife of William M. Densmore for 67 years, the passionate and nurturing mother of their 8 children, and grandmother / great grandmother to theirs. In addition to being an avid baker, she was a Red Sox fan, and was a woman of deep faith who spent countless hours in the dedication of comfort to others.
Therese and her husband moved to Vermont in 1991. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she was a member of the "Sodality," served as chairwoman of the Liturgy Committee, served on the Church Decorating Committee and worked on the Right to Life Phone Tree. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include her husband, William Densmore of Shaftsbury, VT. Her children, Ellen Fanizzi of Rockland, MA, Gary S. Densmore of Austin, Arkansas, Kevin M. Densmore of Abington, MA, Paula M. Force of Abington, MA, John L. Densmore of Cambridge, NY, Wayne C. Densmore of Milton, MA, and Denise L. Densmore of Weymouth, MA, fifteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and dearly loved by several nieces and nephews. Therese was pre-deceased by her daughter, Deborah A. Densmore of Manchester, VT.
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington on Thursday July 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.
Per Therese's request, visitation hours will be private.
