Theresa C. Forcier, age 88, a longtime resident of Pownal, died on Tuesday morning, July 10, 2018 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington. She was born in Pownal, VT on March 29, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Olive (LaFranaier) Chenaille. She received her education in North Pownal, VT.
Theresa married John Forcier at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in North Pownal, on March 31, 1951. Mr. Forcier died on September 17, 1996.
In earlier years, Mrs. Forcier was employed at EZ Mill, Hoy Manufacturing, Thompson Manufacturing and C.B. Sports. For twenty-three years, Mrs. Forcier owned and operated the Dutch Haven Motor Court in Pownal. In later years she was a caregiver to the elderly.
Mrs. Forcier was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #13 in Bennington. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, BINGO and playing lottery tickets.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: Mary Linda and Robert Brown and Jene M. Metcalfe all of Pownal; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Theresa is predeceased by two sisters, Madeline Krawczyk, Victoria Baker and her three bothers; Adrian "Pat" Chenaille, Alfred "Red" Chenaille and Joseph Chenaille, and one son-in-law Peter Metcalfe.
The funeral will be held at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 10:00AM.
Interment will take place in Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Vermont Veterans Home Activities Fund.
