Theresa Marie Godbout DeMasi, 90, a resident of Duffy Drive in Bennington, VT, died Saturday, May 1, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born in North Adams, MA, February 4, 1931, daughter of the late Adelard and Phelanise (Bedard) Godbout. Theresa received her education in North Adams. She married Pascal Joseph DeMasi on February 16, 1952 at Notre Dame du Sacred Heart Church in North Adams. Prior to marrying Mr. DeMasi, Theresa worked at Clark Biscuit and North Adams Gas and Electric.
Theresa was devoted to her family and her church. She was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington where she was a member of the Sodality. She was also a Eucharistic Minister and a reader in the church. She also was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include three daughters, Christine Naughton (Jeffrey) of North Adams, MA, Mary Wood (Peter) of Canaan, NH, and Ann White (Darren) of Danville, VT. Four sons, Mark DeMasi of Bennington, VT, Paul DeMasi (Elaine) of Petersburgh, NY, Michael DeMasi (Gretchen) of San Antonio, TX, and James DeMasi (Suzanne) of Danville, VT, and thirty grandchildren and thirty nine great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Theresa was predeceased by her husband Joseph, by a daughter Maria DeMasi, a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth DeMasi, and by her brothers and sisters Henry, Leo, and Ernest Godbout, Florence Bombardier, Rose Dumas, and Margaret Nault.
The funeral will be held at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington on Thursday, May 6, at 11:00 a.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.
Burial will follow in the family lot at Saint John's Cemetery in North Bennington.
