Theresa A. Allard, 84, a resident of Stocklee Lane in Bennington died Saturday October 15, 2016 at the Center for Living and Rehabilitation surrounded by her family following a brief illness.
She was born at the family home on Charles St. in Bennington on February 19, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Angelina (Brien) Murray. Theresa received her education in Bennington and was a graduate of Bennington High School. She later graduated from Saint Joseph's Business College in Bennington.
In earlier years Theresa worked as a waitress at the Ideal Restaurant and later worked as a short order cook at Carl's in Hoosick, New York. For twenty years Theresa had been employed at Energizer in Bennington from which she retired in 1995.
She enjoyed traveling with her sister Lorraine. Her home and family was her main interest.
Survivors include her children, Linda Allard, Anita Frechette and her husband Jim and Michael Allard all of Bennington and Mark Allard of Lewisburg, North Carolina; twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; a brother Raymond Murray of Conyers, Georgia and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by three brothers, Bernard, Robert and Ernest Murray and a sister Lorraine Ordway
The funeral will be held at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday October 19, at 11:00 a.m.
The burial will take place in the family lot at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday October 18, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. when the family will be in attendance
