Teresa C. Davis, 88, a well-known resident of Arlington, VT passed away peacefully Saturday July 30, 2016 at the Watson House in North Bennington.
She was born in Bennington, VT December 15, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Ellen (Keough) Corey. Teresa received her education in Arlington and was a graduate of Arlington Memorial High School.
She married Bernie M. Davis on September 11, 1948. Mr. Davis died July 9, 2010.
In earlier years Teresa worked at the family store "Corey's" in Arlington, VT and Corey's Taxi Service where she was known to taxi Norman Rockwell. She later worked at Putnam Memorial Hospital in Bennington and Wing Mansion in Shaftsbury. She primarily was a homemaker raising her seven boys.
She was a parishioner of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Her family was her main interest.
Survivors include seven sons and their spouses, Christopher Davis (Melody) of Shaftsbury,VT, John Davis (Kathy) of Arlington, VT, Richard Davis of Arlington, Timothy and Aimee Davis of North Bennington, Mark Davis of Hebron, N.Y., Kevin and Sherry Davis of Pownal, VT and Jeffrey Davis (Denise) of Arlington; Twenty grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Walter J. Corey and a sister Rita Degrenier.
The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Friday August 5 at 9:15 a.m. with a prayer and then from Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington at 10:00 a.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered
The burial will follow the Mass. Teresa will be laid to rest with her husband Bernie at the Vermont Veterans Home War Memorial Cemetery in Bennington. A reception will follow the service at the Parish Hall at Saint Johns in North Bennington
