Susan K. Plante

Susan Kathleen Kenyon Plante, 69, a resident of Cyr Court in Bennington, VT died peacefully Friday April 28, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born in Bennington, VT October 27, 1953. She was the daughter of the late Gordon and Marjorie (Barnard) Kenyon. She received her early education in North Bennington and was a graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School class of 1972. Susan was a member of both the Moose Lodge and the Bennington Elks. She enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren, whether it be playing dolls, having her makeup done or just watching their favorite shows together. She attended many of their sporting events, school concerts and play productions as she could. Survivors include her life partner, Leo Plante of Bennington. Three daughters, Elizabeth Plante of Bennington, Sara Plante (Noah) of North Adams, MA and Lacy Chiorgno (Nik) of Bennington. Two step sons, Michael Main of Shushan, NY and Stephen Main (Amber) of Bennington. An adopted daughter, Jen Lonergan of Latham, NY. Along with thirteen grandchildren, Simone and Lucy Ellis, Victoria and Abigail Smith, Hunter Chiorgno, Lauren and Tanner Main, Becca, Paige and Nicole Main, and Anna, Ava and Emma Miller; two great grandchildren, Westyn and Corbin. Her siblings, Ann Bentley, Barbara Hill (Allen), Jon Kenyon (Cathy), Jeanne Oakman, Mary Hazelton (Dave), Betty Kenyon, Jim Kenyon (Lisa), Cooie Kenyon, Lori Vadakin (Joe) and Dawn Percey. Along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by two sisters, Marge Hall and Linda Lewis. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Friday May 5, from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. The service will follow at the funeral home on Friday at 1:00 p.m. The burial will take place at the family lot at Park Lawn Cemetery.
