Susan Marie Onorato, 63, of Bennington, VT, passed away on July 11, 2024 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. Susan was born in Troy, New York on April 9, 1961, the daughter of the late Irving Sr. and Mary (Morey) Rose. Susan was a foster parent to both children and pets for many, many years. She was a lover of all animals. Susan had a kind heart and was a very giving person, always putting others before herself. Her greatest joy in life came from spending time with her children and grandchildren. Susan is survived by her sons; Michael R. (Gina) Onorato of Chesterfield, NH, Christopher J. Onorato of Bennington, VT and Joseph (Mary Wulff) Onorato of Cambridge, NY, her grandchildren; Ray Onorato, Bentley Wulff-Onorato and Sayde Wulff-Onorato, her siblings; Irving Rose, Jr., of Pownal, VT, Charles “Chuckie” Rose of Bennington, VT, John Rose of Pownal, VT, George Rose of Bennington, VT, Bev O’Brien of Hoosick Falls, NY, Mary LaPell of Pottersville, NY, James Morgan of Pownal, VT and Polly Morgan of Mechanicsville, NY and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Susan was predeceased by her brother, William Michael Rose, Sr., and two nephews, William “RJ” Michael Rose, Jr., and Tyler Rose Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main Street in Bennington, VT on Thursday July 18, 2024, from 4-6 PM. There will be a time of sharing near the conclusion of the visitation. Burial will take place at a later date. If friends desire, contributions in Susan’s memory may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter or the National Foster Parent Association
