Susan M. Kane

August 2, 1979 — May 23, 2016

Susan "Susie" Marie Kane, 36, a resident of Harvard Street, Bennington, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday morning, May 23. Susie was born in Bennington on August 2,1979, daughter of Peter & Linda Kane, also of Bennington.

Susie was a 1997 graduate of MAUHS and continued her education at Castleton University earning a bachelors degree in Criminology and Sociology. Susie was employed at United Counseling Services in Bennington at the time of her passing. Susie thoroughly enjoyed the clients she worked with on a daily basis; she enriched their lives and without knowing it, they enriched Susie's life as well.

Susie surrounded herself with dear friends but was most passionate about the time she spent with her family. Susie was an incredibly proud daughter, sister, and aunt; she never let an opportunity pass to support her parents, siblings, nieces and nephews in any way possible. She was an incredible cheerleader for those she loved dearly. Whether she was playing Barbies with her nieces, attending family events or cheering on loved ones at sporting events, she was always present and
proud.

Susie's smile, laugh, hugs and cheers were what drew people to her. Susie prided herself on being an outstanding, respectable young woman who loved fiercely and her ability to make people laugh was like no other. Despite health issues and on-going medical struggles, Susie fought hard, like no other, to stay strong and positive. Anyone who knew Susie for just a short time, recognizes how devastating life will be without her warmth, sincerity and kindness. Her family and closest friends will live their lives keeping Susie's memory alive.

Susan is survived by her parents Peter & Linda Kane of Bennington, a brother David, his wife Althea, their children DJ and Bree; a sister Julia, her husband Patrick, their children Shaelynn, Emma, Owen and Sophie of Hoosick Falls; and a brother Peter his wife Michelle and their children Jack, Ava and Grace Eastman of Hoosick Falls and her beloved dog, Mack and cat Lucky. Susie is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces/nephews and dear friends.
