Susan A. Bamford

Susan H. Bamford, devoted wife and mother died on April 13, 2023 at the age of 92 years in Manchester Center, VT. She is survived by her husband, Joseph S. Bamford, Jr. and their daughter, Elizabeth A. Bamford and her husband Chris Jensvold of Jericho, VT. Her brother, John P. Hall and his wife Joan of Princeton, N.J. She was born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey. She graduated from Wheaton College (Massachusetts). Susan served on the Boards of Planned Parenthood in Paterson, New Jersey and St. Johnsbury, VT and was twice awarded their Distinguished Service Award. Susan also served on the Vestry of St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey and was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Fairbanks Museum in St. Johnsbury. Sue served as a medical missionary with her husband, Dr. Joseph C. Bamford, Jr. in St. Lucia, West Indies and in Kenya and Uganda, East Africa. Susan loved to sing. She sang alto in church choirs and choruses all her life in Paterson, New York City, Karatina, Kenya, Dorset and Manchester, Vermont among others. She always found the best in people and circumstances. She was loved and respected by all who were enriched by her warmth and kindness. There will be no memorial service.
