Steven Michael Flynn

Steven M. Flynn “Steve”, a Bennington, Vermont native passed away unexpectedly at his Park Street home on Wednesday, February 12th, 2025. He was born on November 16th, 1959 in Bennington to Willam “Corky” Flynn and Janet Kinsley. Steve was predeceased by both his parents, as well as his older brother Thomas Flynn who died in 1971.

He is survived by his wife Lisa Thurston-Flynn of Bennington, his son Riley Flynn of Bennington, his son Morgan Flynn of Hollywood, Florida, his sister Judith Nolan of Davie, Florida, one nephew Flynn Nolan of Coconut Creek, Florida, several cousins and many close friends. A talented athlete, Steve excelled at athletics throughout his life. He was introduced to the ski slopes at Prospect Mountain at a very early age and remained an avid skier into his adulthood. He excelled at both baseball and football during his high school years at Mt. Anthony Union High School.

Steve was an exceptional guitarist who played in several bands during the late 1970s and 1980s, including the well-known group “Visible Twitch,” a group he founded and led from 1979-1984. Music remained an important part of Steve throughout his lifetime.

Steve loved people and will be remembered by all for his hearty laugh and agile sense of humor. He was a giving, kind individual who kept his friends close throughout his lifetime.

Friends may call at The First Baptist Church, 601 Main St., Bennington, Vermont on Saturday, February 22nd from 2 to 4 pm, followed by a church service and reception.
