Steve O. Sweet, 57, a resident of Bennington, VT died on Monday, March 23, 2020 following a brief illness.

He was born in Bennington on May 20, 1962, and was the son of the late John and Margaret (Cannavan) Sweet. He received his education in Pownal schools. Steve had worked at Foster's Cannery in Bennington. He enjoyed car racing and being outdoors.

He is survived by one son: Clifford John (C.J.) Sweet of Burlington, VT. four sisters; Colleen Sweet of Bennington, Alice Sherman of Bennington, Mary (Preston) Foster of Bennington and Cheryl Sweet (Bob Wagner) of Bennington. He leaves one brother, Ray (Donna) Sweet of Wilksboro, North Carolina as well as several nieces and nephews. Steve is predeceased by his parents.

A graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Pownal in the spring.

There are no calling hours scheduled.
