BENNINGTON, VERMONT
Stephen R. Welzanuk, age 44, a resident of Bennington, died on Monday, October 29, 2018, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, following a brief illness.
He was born in Greenwich, New York on September 25, 1974 and was the son of the late Stephen and Betty (Scott) Welzanuk. He received his education in local schools. He is a graduate of Mt. Anthony Union High School. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, and playing with his remote control. Stephen enjoyed outdoor activities with family. Anyone who knows Stephen, knows he was a good friend and would always help whenever needed.
He is survived by Kristine Mason, his lifelong companion. He has two children, his son Taylor Welzanuk, and his daughter Zoe Welzanuk, both of Bennington. Stephen leaves one sister; Jacqueline Colby, and three brothers; Edward Sargent, Jerry Sargent, and Richie Sargent. He also leaves aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and Kristine's grandmother Margaret Mason, whom he was very fond of.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 4:00PM at the Missionary and Christian Alliance Church on Crescent Blvd. in Bennington, Vermont.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
