Stanley P. Shaw

Mr. Stanley P. Shaw,91, resident of Mailbox Way, White Creek, NY, died Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls following a long illness.

Born in Cambridge, NY September 9, 1925 he was the son of the late Robert A. and Lessie M. (Patrick) Shaw. He received his education in Hebron, NY.

Stanley married the former Helen M. VanNess on August 23, 1944 in North Bennington at the Old Stone Church. They celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary this past August.

In earlier years Stanley was employed as a bus driver for Wagner Motor Coach and later as terminal manager for Merrill Transport Company in North Bennington for seventeen years. He later was employed for twenty-two years at H.M. Tuttle Company until his retirement.

Mr. Shaw was a former member of Tucker Lodge #48 F & AM in North Bennington and the North Bennington Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife, Helen M. Shaw of White Creek, NY; three daughters, Jo Ann Watson of Shaftsbury, VT, Debra Latif of Simpsonvile, SC and Patricia Watson of Pownal, VT; two sons, Richard S. Shaw of St. Cloud, MN and Darryl R. Shaw of Spokane, WA; eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren; a sister, Lorraine Gould of Hebron, NY; a brother, Walter Shaw of Ft. Ann, NY; nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Shaw was pre-deceased by a sister, Stella Barney and four brothers, George, Arthur, Raymond and Harold Shaw.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will take place in the family lot in Grandview Cemetery, North Bennington.
