Shirley A. Thomas, 84, a resident of Route 346 in North Pownal, VT died Monday October 15, 2018 at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA following a brief illness.
She was born in Williamstown, MA October 2, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Norman and Evelyn (Chenail) Dickinson. She received her education in Williamstown.
Shirley married William E. Thomas September 12, 1953. Mr. Thomas died November 29, 2016
For 25 years Shirley had been employed as Chief Ward Secretary at the North Adams Regional Hospital and for 25 years worked in the same capacity at the Southwestern Vermont Regional Hospital in Bennington from which she retired.
Shirley enjoyed making floral arrangements, gardening and crocheting.
Survivors include two daughters, Marlene Bouplon and her husband Perry of Shaftsbury, VT and Kim Loomis and her husband Bernie of Bennington. Four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A brother Carl Dickinson and his wife Laura of North Pownal, VT. along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by her son David Thomas, four brothers, Norman, Richard, Wallace and Albert Dickinson and a sister Eileen Shields.
At the request of Shirley there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
A graveside service will be held at Southview Cemetery in North Adams, MA on Saturday October 20, at 10:30 am.
