Shirley Jones

Shirley May Jones (Twinkle Toes), 89, of Hoosick Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday December 21, 2023, at home surrounded by those who loved and cared for her. She was born on August 4, 1934, in Hadley, NY to the late Ellis Nelson Jones, Sr., and Minnie May (Haviland) Jones. Shirley was a graduate of Hoosick Falls High School. She worked for Bell Telephone her entire working career. In her younger years Shirley enjoyed travel, golfing, dancing, and collecting salt-n-pepper shakers. She was fiercely independent and strong willed. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her boyfriend of 40 plus years, John Mazzie; sisters Gertrude Longdeau and Harriet Barton Spiezio, and her brother Ellis Nelson Jones, Jr., She is survived by John (Jackie) Bacon, Terri Marpe, Emily Marpe, Eliana Young, nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Shirley’s family would like to thank Community Hospice for their support and care during her last months. A private service will be held.
