Sherrill Snow

Sherrill "Sue" (Fogt) Snow, 84, a 63-year resident of East Arlington, Vermont passed away peacefully in Albany Medical Center April 6th, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. Sherrill was best known to her family and friends as Sue. Sue was born September 29th, 1939 in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She grew up in Bellefontaine, Ohio and graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1957. Sue married Burton James Snow Jr. of Sunderland, VT on March 5th, 1961, in Bellefontaine. In April of that year, the happy couple moved to East Arlington, VT where they settled and raised their family. Not only was Sue a loving wife and mother of six, but she was also an active member of the United Federated Church of East Arlington, Eastern Star and Grange. Sue loved quilting, sewing, and cooking. Sue shared these God given gifts she loved so much with the community by volunteering as leader and assistant leader to 4-H and local church youth groups, as well as being a beloved Sunday School teacher. Sue also donated her beautifully hand-crafted quilts to various charities throughout Bennington County and surrounding areas. As well as giving her time and knowledge to the East Arlington Library and the East Arlington Food Shelf. Sue was an employee of the Candle Mill, Happy Cook, Iron Kettle, Ben Franklin Department Store and Orvis. In between raising a family, working, and volunteering, Sue found time for decorating Wedding and Birthday cakes. Sue is survived by her daughter, Liana April Snow Johnson of Lancaster, OH; her sons: Russell Scott Snow of East Arlington, VT, Bradford Sage Snow of East Arlington, VT, Mark Andrew Snow of Lancaster, OH, and Burton James Snow III, and wife Barbara (Shepard) Snow of Bennington. Her grandchildren: Sinclair Snow of Phoenix, AZ, Sonya Bekka Snow of East Arlington, VT, and Bailey James Snow of Lancaster, OH. Her brother, Andrew Scott Fogt of Mansfield, OH, and sister, Paula Fogt Stein of Salt Lake City, UT. Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Burton James Snow Jr. of East Arlington, VT; daughter, Lori Sue Snow of Columbus, OH. Her parents, Russell Sage Fogt and Ruth (Bailey) Fogt of Bellefontaine, OH. Her sisters: Lana (Fogt) Powers of Dublin, OH, and Beverly (Fogt) Focht of Waynesfield, OH. A memorial service for Sue will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday April 24, 2024 at the East Arlington Federated Church in East Arlington, Vermont.
