Sharyn E. Jones

Following a battle with a long illness, Sharyn E. (Richmond) Jones, 62, of North Bennington, VT was peacefully reunited with her parents and her sister on January 11, 2024 while surrounded by her family and loved ones. Sharyn’s family was her whole life, and she courageously fought to be here with them, but she was called upon by God to be with the angels where she will forever watch over them. Her children and grandchildren brought her great joy, and she beamed with pride whenever she saw or spoke of them. She was their biggest cheerleader. She attended sporting events, concerts, dance recitals, plays, awards assemblies, and so much more - her proudest moments were spent with her family. There was no shortage of love when you were in her presence. Born in Bennington, VT on October 3, 1961, Sharyn was the daughter of Charles Richmond and Nellie Livingston. She received her education in Vermont, and then built a family that she cherished wholeheartedly. Throughout the years Sharyn coached others in physical fitness, nannied and managed an in-home day care, and cared for her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. She was always checking in on the ones she loved, and would do anything she could to help them. A skilled quilter, Sharyn gifted many beautiful hand sewn quilts to her loved ones throughout the years, and she continued to quilt into her final days. She was also an incredible cook and baker. She loved her annual Christmas baking weekend with her children and grandchildren, and sharing her delicious treats with family, friends, and neighbors. Family meals were always filling - not just because of her amazing cooking skills, but also because of the love she poured into them. Preparing home cooked meals for those she loved was something Sharyn truly enjoyed. She would spend hours in the kitchen making the most delicious family meals so she could bring everyone together and shower them with love. Sharyn is predeceased by her parents and her sister Lina Dickenson. She is survived by her husband, Patrick Jones, her children Keith (Michelle) Hunt, Steven (Keya) Hunt, Tad (Kaitlyn) Hunt, Mark Hunt, and Aliyah Jones. She also leaves behind her sister Bonnie Malott and her partner Tom Whalen, her brother Frank (Becky) Livingston, her brother Scott (Rebbecca) Richmond, 7 grandchildren, Ella, Ethan, Nolan, Solomon, Seraphina, Lyndon, and Liam, plus many nieces and nephews on both sides. For those who wish to pay their respects calling hours will be held at Mahar's funeral home from 1-2pm with a service to follow on Monday, January 15, 2024. Following the service the family invites everyone to join them at the VFW Post 1332 in Bennington, VT for a celebration of life.
