Scott Michael Smith

Scott Michael Smith, 62, of Petersburgh, NY passed away suddenly on March 16, 2023 after a massive stroke the week before. Scott was born in Troy, NY on March 28, 1960 to Glenn and Lee Smith. He graduated from Hoosick Falls Central School in 1978 and also attended Hudson Valley Community College. Scott was a contractor and painter by trade. He loved being outdoors, whether it be taking care of his yard, hunting, fishing, riding his side-by-side on his property, or bird-watching with his daughter, Kate, in earlier years. Scott was an artist who especially loved painting pictures of medieval times and outdoor scenes with oil paints. Regardless of what Scott was doing, he was always accompanied by rock ‘n roll music. Scott is survived by his significant other, Sandra VanDerKar; his daughter Katlyn (Cole) Weaver and two grandsons, Emmett and Leo; his sisters, Susan (Michael) Colliano and Stephanie (Michael) Willson; and several nieces and nephews. Scott was predeceased by his mother and father, Leona (Lee) and Glenn Smith, and his grandparents. At Scott’s request, there will be no funeral services.
