Sarah Jane Harris, 45, a resident of Bennington, Vermont, passed away on December 2nd, 2023, at her home following a long illness. Born on August 7th, 1978, in Bennington, Vermont, Sarah was the cherished daughter of Judith Stratton and the late James Harris. Her formative years were spent in the village of Shaftsbury, Vermont, where she received her early education before graduating from Mount Anthony Union High School in 1996. Sarah's professional journey was marked by her dedication as a teacher's assistant, where she impacted the lives of children through personalized guidance. Additionally, she contributed to her family's restaurant, The Ground Round, by serving as a warm and friendly presence. An avid enthusiast of the arts, Sarah found joy in expressing herself through various forms, be it drawing or creative crafts. Her deepest source of happiness, however, was the cherished time spent with her daughter, Isabella, born 2011. She is survived by her deeply loved daughter Isabella G. Favata, her mother and stepfather Judith and Richard Stratton of Argyle, NY; sisters Jessica Moore (Clarke Moore); and Christa Bleau; step-sisters Sarah Stratton and Molly Brockway (Brandon Glans). Sarah leaves behind nieces and nephews Savannah Bleau, Aidan Moore, Riley Moore, Sophia Jones, and Tatum Glans. She also leaves behind a large network of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever treasure her memory. In addition to her father, Sarah is predeceased by Isabella's father, Anthony Favata. A private graveside service to honor Sarah will take place at the family lot in East Lawn Cemetery, Williamstown, Massachusetts at a later date.
