Sarah Jane Geannelis, of Imperial Avenue, Bennington, Vermont, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2020, following a long illness.
Sarah was born on June 1, 1970, in Bennington, Vermont. She was predeceased by her mother, Patricia and father, Peter John Geannelis. Sarah grew up in Bennington County where she attended school. Sarah had also lived in Pownal and East Rupert, Vermont.
After school, Sarah became a chef and worked locally. At one time, she worked at the family restaurant on Main Street in Bennington. Sarah was also known as a poultry and produce farmer. Sarah enjoyed cooking and baking. She loved the great outdoors. Her hobbies included, gardening, bird watching, horses, camping and fishing. She loved going to camp on Lake Champlain, Vermont. It was there she would take the most beautiful pictures of wildflowers and sunsets over the lake.
Sarah left behind many loved ones. Her longtime partner, William Baker of Bennington, who she often referred to as her "hero". Sarah also left behind a son, Chaz Allen Pike. She called him her miracle child. She is also survived by three brothers: Ryan, J.P. and Jake Geannelis; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends as well as Charlie Pike, Chaz's father.
A special thanks to all those who helped Sarah throughout the years. She appreciated all her health care providers. Also a special thanks to Uncle Ed Pike for helping raise Chaz.
Due to the Covid virus, a graveside ceremony will be announced at a later time.
