Sandra Jaraun Mustain

December 26, 1938 — February 6, 2024

BENNINGTON- On a sunny winter day, February 6, 2024, at around noon, while in the comfort of her home, Sandra Jaraun Mustain took her last breath on earth and moved on to her next adventure. She was greeted there by her husband, William Mustain, her parents Robert and Floye Neighbors, her sister Paula Neighbors, and a multitude of those who left before her, including several cherished pets. Right before she passed, a red cardinal came to her window. Mom always said that when the cardinal appeared, it was Dad visiting her. Yesterday he came to visit her one last time here on earth and summoned her to join him. Mom, aka "Granny" loved animals, sewing, genealogy, music, baking, gardening and her family. She made the best berry cobbler in the world and baked a great cookie in her day. She was incredibly proud of her children and grandchildren's accomplishments in life. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints and believed that Families are Forever. A very special thank you to all the wonderful caretakers in the past few years of mom's life, most notably, Jane and Valerie brought her so much peace and comfort in her final months. Mom was also cared for tirelessly and selflessly by her daughter Jaraun, who lived with her in her final years. Without that support, she would not have been able to die peacefully at home. Sandra is survived by her three children, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Daughter, Jaraun Mustain, Grandchildren; Kayleigh McIntire, Andreya Derby, Samantha (John) Karambatsakis, Great Grandchild Aviree Smith, and Grandchild Elizabeth (Adam) Keegan/Derby; Daughter, Tamara Mustain, Grandchildren, Geoffrey (Anna) Winger, Olivia and Marina Cappellano; and Son, Robert (Nicole) Mustain, Grandchildren, Courtnie (Nick) Kemp, Great Grandchildren Kennedy and Aiden, Grandchildren Brooke (Ryan) Gubler, and Austin Mustain. A service for Sandra will be held at 10am on February 9th, 2024 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery 200 Duell Road Schuylerville, NY 12871. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to the ASPCA P.O. Box 96929 Washington, DC 20090 or to an animal charity of your choice.
