Royal David Baisley

Royal David Baisley passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 65 years old. He was born on January 25,1959, in Suffern, NY, raised in Stony Point, and later relocated to Shaftsbury, Vermont. Roy was an Air Force veteran and worked as an aircraft technician. He was then employed by Orange & Rockland Utilities as a foreman and supervisor until his retirement after 32+ years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was a man of immense humor. Roy possessed common sense, compassion, and was willing to share his wisdom and perspective when asked. He also had the talent and ability to create and repair almost anything. Roy was a member of the American Legion, Post 13, Bennington, as well as a member of the Bennington Horseshoe Club. Roy is predeceased by his father and mother, Royal and Jean (Stratton) Baisley. He is survived by his beloved partner, Mary; his sister, Patricia Carruth (Daniel); niece Ashley Carruth, and nephew Christopher Carruth. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family on Thursday, June 27 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Mahar Funeral Home, located at 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT. Following visitation hours, graveside services for Roy will take place at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington, VT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the WoundedWarriorProject.org
