Rosemary B. Finn, 98, a resident of 300 Village Lane, Bennington, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, December 5, 2018.
Born in Utica, NY on September 15, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Gerald F. and Rosemary (Brown) Finn. She received her education at Vincentian Institute in Albany and was a 1943 graduate of Oneonta State University.
Immediately after college Rosemary was a teacher for three years before going to work for New York Telephone Company where she retired as an accounting supervisor in 1982.
Rosemary was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Zonta Club in Albany and Bennington Business and Professional Women.
She was an avid reader who also enjoyed traveling, crafts, puzzles, crossword puzzles and she had knitted over 40 Christmas Stockings for her many nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews.
Rosemary is survived by eight nieces and nephews, Robert H, David E and William A. Thompson, Debora A. Lyon, Mary B Hendricks, Gerald Finn, Eileen LeMatty and Richard Veldman and by many great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Rosemary is predeceased by two sisters, Claire Thompson and Maureen Veldman and a brother, Gerald Finn.
The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Monday December 10, at 9:30 a.m. with a prayer and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 10:00 a.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Sunday December 9, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
The burial and committal service will take place at the family lot in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont, NY. on Monday at 1:00 p.m.
