Mrs. Rosemary Czerwinski, 100, recently residing in Anchorage, Alaska and a longtime resident of Bennington, Vermont passed away peacefully during the early morning hours of February 27, 2023 with family by her side and a brilliant display of the aurora borealis above. Born October 18th, 1922 in Totnes, Devon, England. She was the daughter of the late Norman and Evelyn (Putt) Mills. Rosemary was raised and received her early education in England. She later earned her Associates Degree as a Medical Transcriptionist from the Thomas McCann School in North Adams. At the close of World War II she immigrated to the United States to marry the love of her life, a U.S. Army Air Force navigator who had been stationed in England during the war. On May 25, 1946 she married Emil Florian Czerwinski in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Rosemary and Emil moved to Bennington, Vermont in 1981 and became very active within the community. Rosemary worked as a certified medical transcriptionist for many years at Williamstown Medical Associates. She volunteered countless hours with the Bennington Lions Club, AARP, the Welcome Center and many other local organizations. You could always find her playing and walking the golf course at the Mount Anthony Country Club, which she was a member of for many years. Her other pastimes included skiing, dogs, knitting,... She is predeceased by her husband of nearly 70 years who passed on September 15th, 2012. Survivors include her three daughters: Evelyn Marvel (Robert), Natalie Vertodoulos, and Janice Czerwinski. Her six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews. A graveside service for Rosemary will be held at 10:00 am on June 17, 2023 at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington, Vermont. Close friends and family will gather privately afterwards for a celebration of life.
